Swahili carries the histories, exchanges and everyday rhythms of the East African coast. In its greetings, expressions and ways of addressing others, language becomes an introduction to a rich social world. Its coastal heritage is part of its character, while its use extends across Kenya and far beyond the shoreline.
For someone arriving in Kenya, Swahili can make ordinary experiences more personal: greeting a neighbour, speaking with a colleague, asking for directions or taking part in a conversation that would otherwise pass by. 03 / Dholuo
Dholuo is a language of Luo communities, with strong connections to western Kenya and the Lake Victoria region. It carries family conversations, storytelling, humour and the expressions through which people recognise familiarity and belonging. Those connections travel with its speakers into cities and communities elsewhere.
Learning Dholuo may be a return to a language heard at home, a way to speak with relatives more independently, or an introduction to the family and community of a partner. It can also support people whose work or daily life brings them into Dholuo speaking settings.
Our approach connects the language with these relationships and experiences. You practise listening, pronunciation, sentence patterns and everyday conversation alongside the cultural context that gives an exchange its meaning. Kikuyu, also known as Gikuyu, is closely connected to Kikuyu communities and the central Kenyan highlands around Mount Kenya. It is spoken in homes, towns and communities across Kenya and beyond, carrying the relationships, stories and everyday expressions of its speakers.
For some learners, it is a heritage language they wish to reclaim or strengthen. For others, it offers a way to connect with a partner’s family, understand the community around them or communicate more comfortably in a setting where Kikuyu is part of daily life.
Your engagement brings practical communication and cultural understanding together. We work on listening, pronunciation, vocabulary and the patterns that help you form your own sentences. Adult engagements are immersive three month and six month partnerships, with limited one month intensives for time sensitive needs. For Students follows a renewable three month structure. Daily active touchpoints between live sessions help the language become a natural habit rather than an isolated appointment.

Curriculum Support & Private Language Tutoring
Dedicated English, Swahili and Chinese tutoring for school learners at all levels, delivered by certified tutors. Support follows the student’s school curriculum, with tutors available for Kenya’s curriculum, British and Cambridge programmes, and the International Baccalaureate.
We also offer SAT Reading and Writing preparation and IELTS preparation, delivered by certified tutors. Preparation is shaped around the learner’s current level, target assessment and areas requiring attention.
We begin with the learner’s current understanding, school requirements and areas that need attention. Sessions develop reading, writing, listening and speaking, with focused support for schoolwork and preparation for language assessments where relevant to the syllabus.
Tutoring takes place at the student’s home or a suitable location selected by their parent or guardian. Engagements run for three months and can be renewed for another three months. Parents or guardians receive progress updates every two weeks, keeping them informed about the work covered, developing strengths and areas requiring further support.

Once a month, we bring language into a setting where it can be lived. Monthly Immersion gives clients based in Nairobi an opportunity to step beyond scheduled instruction and practise through an engaging experience in a local space, with their linguist alongside them.
The emphasis is on participation. You are encouraged to speak, ask questions, listen to different voices and respond in your own words. An exchange might begin with a greeting, a request or a simple question, then develop into a conversation that helps you understand both the language and the people using it.
Your linguist helps you prepare for the experience, drawing on useful expressions, the situations you may encounter and the cultural context that shapes them. During the immersion, guidance is close at hand while you have room to lead your own exchanges. Afterwards, we revisit what you noticed, the language that proved useful and the moments you would like to handle with greater confidence.
Each experience is considered in relation to your language, level and objectives. For someone beginning, progress may be the confidence to initiate an exchange. For a more experienced speaker, it may mean sustaining a conversation, recognising nuance or adapting naturally to an unfamiliar setting.
Activities and arrangements are agreed as part of your engagement. The intention is to build a more active relationship with the language, one conversation and one lived experience at a time.

It is a personal introduction to the city, bringing together language, culture and the pleasure of discovering somewhere new with someone who knows it. Beyond the places you encounter, it is an opportunity to appreciate the everyday rhythms, conversations and connections that give Nairobi its character.
With your linguist alongside you, there is space to ask questions, find your bearings and put your learning into practice at a comfortable pace. Our intention is to help you feel more at ease in the city and more connected to the life around you.

You will then receive the relevant programme details, including the schedule, duration, and applicable fee.
Once the engagement framework is agreed and formalised, your schedule is reserved exclusively within our client calendar. We finalize all operational details, establish your routine touchpoints, and initiate your programme.
Your programme begins on the agreed commencement date. From there, your engagement proceeds according to the structure established for you.
